Events and activities throughout the year
- Year-round: guided tours of permanent exhibition for groups geared to age and ability. 3-visit package at discounted price available for school groups. Guided tours of temporary exhibitions onsite as well as tailor-made tours offsite of eg the walls of Waterford, the historic sites of the city generally, available on request. Guided tours incorporate handling of reproduction objects.
- Annual: Special activities to coincide with fixed events such as John Roberts weekend (May bank holiday weekend); International Museum Day (mid-May); National Drawing Day (3rd week May); Spraoi (August bank holiday weekend); National Walled Towns Day (August); National Heritage Week (3rd week August); Light Opera Festival (September).
- One-off: events/activities mounted by Waterford Museum of Treasures celebrating anniversaries of Waterford people and places eg Reginald’s Tower’s 1000th birthday bash 2003, Walled Towns Friendship Circle Symposium hosted 2003, 525th anniversary re-enactment of pilgrimage voyage of Mayor James Rice to Santiago de Compostela, pageant on Rice’s life (2008), Waterford 1100 years celebrations in 2014 or to complement Waterford events such as the Tall Ships 2005 & 2011, lectures, exhibitions, book launches, unveilings.
